Using Emoji in Workflowy

Workflowy is a text-based outliner. It can sometimes be difficult to make items stand out, so I sometimes use emoji. The pushpin �� is a good image to draw the eye towards a list item.

As I’ve mentioned before, if you include a link to a section of Workflowy within Workflowy, that link will work in the iOS app.

So I included the following at the top of my outline:

You can easily import the above by copying the OPML in this gist and pasting it directly into Workflowy:

Now if I tap on that link within the iOS app, the app will show all instances in which the pushpin emoji is used.

How I Got the URL-Encoded Emoji String

I simply pasted �� into the URL Encoder/Decoder at Meyerweb and hit “encode” and then pasted that string after

Another way: Get the unicode for the character and then convert \xF0\x9F\x93\x8C to %F0%9F%93%8C.
