The Spotify URI is
The resource identifier that you can enter, for example, in the Spotify Desktop client’s search box to locate an artist, album, or track. To find a Spotify URI simply right-click (on Windows) or Ctrl-Click (on a Mac) on the artist’s or album’s or track’s name.
If a friend shares one with you or you pull one from the desktop app, there is a way to open that track/artist/album/playlist on your iOS device without converting it to a URL.
In the example on their API page, they use
which is “Speak to Me” by Pink Floyd. The congruent URL
would bring you to that track on Spotify’s web app. I have actions in Launch Center Pro that precede any Spotify URL with
spotify:, which will open that URL directly into the app.
However, if you don’t want to convert the URI to a URL, you can do either of the following:
Just create an URL action in Launch Center Pro and paste the full URI after
The URI is not a clickable link, but if you make it a markdown link, you can Preview in Markdown in Drafts, and click on the anchor text:
[speak to me](spotify:track:6rqhFgbbKwnb9MLmUQDhG6)
